
Kerala has set a national benchmark by implementing an AI-powered cyber safety system, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced while inaugurating a series of new initiatives by the state police department.
AI-Enabled Cybersecurity Centre Launched
A major highlight was the launch of the Kerala Police’s AI-enabled Security Operations Centre (SOC). In its first phase, the centre will secure computers and critical infrastructure at police headquarters, city commissionerates, and affiliated stations. Developed in collaboration with the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), the SOC will be overseen by IG Cyber Operations. A senior official called it a landmark achievement, making Kerala the first state in India to establish such a cybersecurity centre, a crucial move amid growing cyber threats targeting law enforcement agencies.

30 New Police Buildings Inaugurated

As part of the modernization drive, 30 newly constructed police buildings across various districts were inaugurated, completed at a total cost of Rs 62.61 crore. The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for six additional buildings, further enhancing the state’s law enforcement infrastructure.

Public Feedback System for Transparency
To improve accountability and citizen engagement, a real-time public feedback system has been introduced. Citizens visiting police stations can now rate services by scanning a QR code displayed at every station, ensuring transparency and efficiency in grievance redressal.
CM Calls for Study on Rising Youth Crimes
Expressing concern over increasing criminal activities among youth, CM Pinarayi Vijayan directed the police to conduct a scientific study to analyze this trend and develop effective strategies for intervention.

Awards & Notable Attendees
The Chief Minister also distributed awards to police stations that won the Chief Minister’s Trophy for Excellence in Service. The event saw the presence of MLA Antony Raju, State Police Chief Shaikh Darvesh Sahib, and ADGPs Manoj Abraham, H Venkatesh, and S Sreejith.
