Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for two major projects in Andhra Pradesh: the Krishnapatnam Industrial Area (Kris City) under the Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor in Tirupati district and a bulk drug park at Nakkapalli in Anakapalli district. These initiatives aim to boost industrial growth, create employment opportunities, and strengthen the state’s economic foundation.

During his visit to Visakhapatnam, PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation for development projects worth over ₹2 lakh crore. Among these, Kris City stands out as a greenfield industrial smart city, developed as part of the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme. The project is expected to attract investments of ₹10,500 crore and generate approximately one lakh direct and indirect jobs.

Highlighting Andhra Pradesh’s industrial potential, PM Modi noted that the state has already benefited from Shri City’s success as a manufacturing hub. He emphasized the government’s commitment to making Andhra Pradesh one of the top-performing states in the industrial and manufacturing sectors through initiatives like the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme. These measures have positioned India as a global leader in manufacturing a wide range of products.

In line with his vision for affordable and accessible healthcare, the Prime Minister laid the foundation for the Bulk Drug Park in Nakkapalli. Located near the Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor (VCIC) and the Visakhapatnam-Kakinada Petroleum, Chemical, and Petrochemical Investment Region, the park is expected to create thousands of jobs and accelerate economic growth. This initiative will further reduce India’s dependence on imported raw materials for pharmaceuticals, bolstering the nation’s self-reliance in the healthcare sector.

PM Modi launched the NTPC Green Energy Limited Green Hydrogen Hub project at Pudimadaka near Visakhapatnam in a significant move towards green energy. This state-of-the-art facility, the first under India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission, will involve an investment of ₹1.85 lakh crore. The project includes the development of 20 GW of renewable energy capacity, making it one of the largest integrated green hydrogen production facilities in the country. The hub will produce 1,500 tons of green hydrogen daily and derivatives like green methanol, green urea, and sustainable aviation fuel, primarily targeting the export market. The project aligns with India’s goal of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil energy capacity by 2030.

Another significant milestone was the foundation stone for the South Coast Railway Zone headquarters in Visakhapatnam, fulfilling a long-standing demand for a separate railway zone in Andhra Pradesh. PM Modi highlighted the importance of this development in improving connectivity and boosting regional infrastructure.

Speaking at the event, PM Modi expressed his commitment to the development of Andhra Pradesh, envisioning the state as a $2.5 trillion economy by 2047. He referred to the ‘Swarna Andhra@2047’ initiative launched by the government under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, aimed at achieving this ambitious goal.

The Prime Minister reiterated that infrastructure development in Andhra Pradesh would transform the state’s landscape and improve the quality of life for its citizens. He emphasized the government’s dedication to enhancing connectivity, promoting investments, and creating a sustainable future for the region.
