Uttar Pradesh has approved a high-tech green city ‘New Noida,’ which will be one of the most modern urban centres in the country. A city designed to match the best of the world with sustainable practices like solar-powered buildings and open green spaces, New Noida promises to revolutionize urban existence. The project, covering a total of 84 villages located in the Dadri and Bulandshahr regions of Uttar Pradesh, will be undertaken in four phases and is expected to be completed by 2041.
The project was first approved by the Noida Authority board in August last year. The state government approved the plans last week, giving its final endorsement after refining them with public input, marking significant progress on this ambitious project. New Noida will surpass Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad in size and modernity, covering a total area of 21,101 hectares. The city will be built in four phases: Phase 1 will cover 3,165 hectares, completed by 2027; Phase 2 will span 3,798 hectares by 2032; Phase 3 will involve 5,908 hectares by 2037; and Phase 4 will encompass 8,230 hectares by 2041.
The Noida Authority has already allocated ₹1,000 crores toward land acquisition, signalling the seriousness of intent behind the project.
Smart Infrastructure and Sustainable Living
The city will feature state-of-the-art infrastructure and a sustainable approach throughout its development. Smart city technologies will play a vital role, including intelligent traffic management systems, real-time monitoring, and surveillance solutions to guarantee seamless operations and safety. Balancing urban lifestyles with green life, the city aims to be a model of smart and sustainable living.
Economic Engine and Employment Generation
New Noida is not just focused on its tech aspects. Its development will create millions of jobs and boost the economies of the Gautam Buddha Nagar and Bulandshahr districts. Existing industries will expand into New Noida, which will host labs and industries specializing in renewable energy technology, nanotechnology, bio-IT solutions, and smart materials.
This mega initiative promises to establish new benchmarks for urbanization in the country and position New Noida as a prototype of future cities in India. It will revolutionize urban life, redefining Uttar Pradesh’s role in India’s economic and technological arena.
The approval of New Noida marks a courageous new era for Uttar Pradesh, setting it as a model for sustainable urban growth. By 2041, New Noida will stand as a living example of a modern, functional, and sustainable place to live. The vision includes developing a futuristic urban hub that will eclipse the existing cities of Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad.
Spanning 84 villages in Dadri and Bulandshahr, New Noida will feature world-class infrastructure, smart city technologies, and new-age green designs, making it a hotspot of innovation, employment, and economic activity in the region. Spread across 38 million square feet, this project will help Uttar Pradesh position itself as a world-class destination for urban living.
