
Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Shri Pralhad Joshi, emphasised Rajasthan’s pivotal role in advancing India’s renewable energy goals at the ‘Rising Rajasthan: Transition Towards a Sustainable Energy Economy’ Summit held in Jaipur. Speaking at the session on sustainable energy, the Minister described Rajasthan as a trailblazer in the country’s renewable energy sector. “Rajasthan stands at the forefront of India’s renewable energy revolution with its bold targets, progressive policies, and substantial investments,” he remarked.
The Union Minister highlighted the launch of Rajasthan’s Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024, which aims to achieve a renewable energy capacity of 125 GW by 2030. This initiative aligns with India’s ambitious target of 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, as envisioned by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. “These policies underscore Rajasthan’s dedication to fostering an environment conducive to renewable energy investments,” Shri Joshi added.
Rajasthan’s achievements in the sector were spotlighted during the event. The state leads the nation with an installed renewable energy capacity of 30.31 GW, including 24.55 GW from solar power alone. The Minister also commended the Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme 2024, which offers significant incentives for renewable energy investors.
Shri Joshi underscored the rapid advancements in India’s renewable energy sector under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership over the past decade. He urged Rajasthan to accelerate the implementation of initiatives like the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana to extend their benefits to the masses. Additionally, he called for the swift execution of Rajasthan’s Green Hydrogen Policy, which aims to position the state as a global hub for green technology.

The Summit also facilitated discussions on innovative renewable energy technologies, including solar, wind, and hydrogen, alongside modern financing mechanisms and investment opportunities. The Minister expressed optimism about Rajasthan’s potential to emerge as a global leader in renewable energy innovation.

A significant announcement at the event was the approval of a 2000 MW solar park by Rajasthan Solar Development Corporation, with 30% financial assistance from the Central Government. Shri Joshi assured collaboration with all stakeholders to propel the sector further.

The event was attended by notable dignitaries, including Rajasthan Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma and Energy Minister Shri Heera Lal Nagar, highlighting the state’s collective commitment to sustainable energy growth.
