As the new year approaches, the Rajasthan government has delivered positive news for its employees by announcing a significant increase in the dearness allowance (DA). This decision, aimed at easing the financial strain on employees amid rising living costs, will provide much-needed relief to many.
The DA hike is set at 12%, benefiting state employees and pensioners under the 5th and 6th pay scales. Effective retrospectively from July 1, this adjustment ensures timely financial support to those it impacts.
Additionally, the Rajasthan government, under the leadership of Bhajan Lal Sharma, has announced an increase in both DA and dearness relief (DR) for its employees. This move, approved by Finance Minister Diya Kumari, raises the concession rate from 443% to 455% for the 5th pay scale and from 239% to 246% for the 6th pay scale, further enhancing the financial well-being of government workers and retirees in the state.

Meanwhile, central government employees continue to await updates on their long-pending DA arrears of 18 months. Despite consistent appeals, no formal response has been received from the authorities, leaving many hopeful for a resolution soon.
