
India Internet Governance Forum is set to take place on 9-10 December 2024 at the Bharat Mandapam Convention Center, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI), IIGF 2024 is spearheaded by India’s multi-stakeholder community. The event underscores India’s growing leadership in the global digital landscape while facilitating meaningful dialogue on the future of Internet governance. This Forum is an initiative associated with the UN Internet Governance Forum (UN IGF), a globally recognised multi-stakeholder platform established by the United Nations.
Building on the success of its hybrid editions in 2021, 2022, and 2023, the fourth IIGF will revolve around the theme “Innovating Internet Governance for India.” This theme reflects the forum’s commitment to fostering a secure, inclusive, and ethically governed Internet that bridges the digital divide, enhances trust, and leverages cutting-edge technologies for national progress.
The event will be inaugurated by Jitin Prasada, Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology and Commerce and Industry, alongside S. Krishnan, Secretary, MeitY.

The India Internet Governance Forum (IIGF), aligned with the UN Internet Governance Forum (UN IGF), operates as a multi-stakeholder platform to discuss Internet policies. Launched in 2021, IIGF is supported by a 14-member committee comprising representatives from government, industry, civil society, technical communities, and think tanks. By fostering collaboration, IIGF aims to maximize the Internet’s potential while addressing risks and challenges in the digital era.
