KPMG has unveiled plans to invest $100 million over the next four years to enhance its enterprise artificial intelligence (AI) services in collaboration with Google Cloud, marking its largest direct commitment to the platform to date, according to a Reuters report.

The initiative aims to develop AI-driven solutions, equip KPMG employees with cutting-edge tools, and leverage Google Cloud’s advanced technologies to address the growing demand for AI integration across industries. Steve Chase, KPMG’s vice chair for AI and innovation, highlighted the shift from experimentation to large-scale AI adoption, describing it as one of the most transformative changes in the professional services sector.

A recent KPMG survey revealed that 50% of business leaders plan to invest at least $100 million in AI within the next year, while 20% anticipate exceeding $250 million. Over the past two years, this rising demand has driven a tenfold increase in bookings for KPMG’s Google Cloud services.

Matt Renner, Google Cloud’s President of Revenue, emphasized that collaborations with consulting firms like KPMG play a pivotal role in Google Cloud’s growth, which saw a 35% surge in sales contributing to Alphabet’s strong third-quarter earnings.
