Countdown Begins for the 2nd National Emerging Technology Summit, West Bengal

Kolkata: The 2nd National Emerging Technology Summit, organised by West Bengal Electronics Industry Development Corporation Limited (WEBEL), under the Department of Information Technology and Electronics, Government of West Bengal, in collaboration with Elets Technomedia Pvt. Ltd., is all set to take place on 22nd November 2024 at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, Kolkata.


This summit will see policymakers, technology experts, and industry leaders from across India discuss how emerging technologies are shaping the future of governance, public services, and innovation in West Bengal. The summit also celebrates 50 years of WEBEL’s contributions to the State’s digital transformation, making it a landmark occasion for the state.

WEBEL is a leader in IT and electronics in West Bengal. From launching the Salt Lake Electronics Complex to creating the Bengal Silicon Valley Tech Hub, WEBEL has been at the forefront of innovation, enabling thousands of jobs and attracting significant investments in the state. Highlights of the Summit


The summit’s Chief Guest, Shri Babul Supriyo, Hon’ble Minister-in-Charge, Department of Information Technology and Electronics, and Department of Tourism, Government of West Bengal, will deliver the keynote address, sharing his vision for the state’s digital growth.

Shri Sanjay Kumar Das, IAS, Additional Secretary, IT & Electronics Department, and Managing Director, WEBEL, will steer discussions on innovation and future strategies for digital transformation.
