
In a major reshuffle, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has appointed three IAS officers to key positions within the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). Subhasish Panda, a 1997-batch Himachal Pradesh cadre officer, has been elevated to Additional Secretary in the PMO, where he will serve until January 2027.
Reghu G, a 2011-batch IAS officer from the Odisha cadre, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the PMO, following his previous role in the Ministry of Home Affairs. His deputation is set to continue until August 2028. Similarly, Chandra Mohan Thakur, a 2012-batch Madhya Pradesh cadre officer, has also been named Deputy Secretary in the PMO for a four-year tenure.

In a related move, three AGMUT cadre IAS officers have also been reassigned. Dheeraj Gupta, a 1993-batch officer, has been appointed Additional Chief Secretary to Delhi Chief Minister Atishi Marlena. Shailendra Kumar (1995 batch), currently the Principal Secretary in the Agriculture Production Department, has been given additional responsibility as Administrative Secretary of the Department of Forest, Ecology, and Environment. Santosh D Vaidya, a 1998-batch officer and Principal Secretary to the Finance Department, will now also hold the additional charge of Administrative Secretary for the Department of Information Technology.
