Appointments (GoI): Bhawna Garg’s tenure at UIDAI extended, Anil Malik appointed Secretary Minority Affairs

The Government of India has extended the central deputation tenure of 1999-batch IAS officer Bhawna Garg. Serving as the Deputy Director General (DDG) at the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) Regional Office in Chandigarh, her tenure has been extended for another year beyond May 14, 2024, or until further orders.

In other bureaucratic movements, Anil Malik (1991 batch IAS), Secretary in the Ministry of Women & Child Development, will take on additional duties as Secretary in the Ministry of Minority Affairs, replacing Katikithala Srinivas (1989 batch IAS) during his leave.

T K Ramachandran (1991 batch IAS), Secretary in the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, will also serve as Secretary in the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, filling in for Anurag Jain (1989 batch IAS) during his leave.

Abhilaksh Likhi (IAS: 1991: HY), Secretary of the Department of Fisheries, has been assigned additional charge of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare from May 16 to May 27, 2024, during Manoj Ahuja’s (IAS: 1990: OR) leave.


Additionally, Apurva Chandra (IAS: 1988: MH), Secretary of the Department of Health and Family Welfare, will handle the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs from May 14 to May 20, 2024, during Anurag Jain’s absence.
