Akasa Air to link Gorakhpur with Delhi and Bengaluru with direct flights

In a significant stride towards enhancing regional air connectivity, Akasa Air is set to launch non-stop flights linking Gorakhpur to Delhi and Bengaluru, heralding a new era of convenience for travelers.

The scheduled flights, approved by the Airport Authority of India, are set to commence operations on May 29, with online ticket bookings already underway. Passengers can now traverse the distance from Gorakhpur to Delhi in a mere 1 hour and 15 minutes, and to Bengaluru in just 2 hours and 35 minutes.

According to the flight schedule released by Akasa Air, the Gorakhpur-Delhi route will kick off with a departure time of 2:45 PM, landing in Delhi at 4:00 PM. Conversely, flights from Delhi to Gorakhpur will depart at 4:55 PM and arrive at 6:45 PM. Similarly, flights from Bengaluru to Gorakhpur will take off at 11:15 AM, reaching Gorakhpur at 2:05 PM, with return flights departing Gorakhpur at 7:20 PM and landing in Bengaluru at 9:55 PM.

The initiation of these services underscores Akasa Air’s commitment to enhancing regional connectivity and meeting the burgeoning travel demands of passengers. Furthermore, this development amplifies competition in airfare rates, promising cost-effective travel options for flyers.

With the imminent launch of Mumbai flight services by Akasa Air and IndiGo’s preparations to introduce flights between Gorakhpur and Bengaluru in the coming months, Gorakhpur is poised to emerge as a pivotal hub in the country’s aviation landscape.

Director of Airport Authority of India, R.K. Parashar, emphasised that the introduction of additional flight services fosters healthy competition, ultimately benefiting passengers with lower fares and improved connectivity.

Over the past seven years, concerted efforts by the state and central governments have transformed Gorakhpur’s aviation sector, catapulting it into a realm of connectivity previously unimaginable. From being devoid of air services, Gorakhpur now boasts direct flights to seven major cities, including the national and financial capitals, bridging geographical barriers and facilitating seamless travel experiences for millions.
