Prime Minister Narendra Modi speaking at the Startup Mahakumbh event said that India has emerged as the third-largest startup ecosystem in the world, boasting over 1.25 lakh startups and 110 unicorns. PM Modi emphasised that India is paving its way towards becoming a developed nation through timely decisions.

He highlighted India’s startup ecosystem is not limited to metro cities, it has now become a social culture. He expressed his determination to elevate India to the status of the world’s third-largest economy during his third term, with startups playing a pivotal role in this journey.

The Prime Minister credited the Startup India initiative for providing a platform for innovative ideas and facilitating connections between entrepreneurs and investors. He commended the youth for embracing entrepreneurship, transforming from job seekers to job creators.


Moreover, PM Modi underscored the significant contribution of women, who lead over 45 percent of Indian startups. He emphasised India’s democratisation of technology, debunking the notion of technology disparity between social classes.

Prime Minister Modi also praised the Rs 1 lakh crore fund allocated for research and innovation in the interim budget, foreseeing its positive impact on burgeoning sectors.
