In a recent administrative development in Maharashtra, IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma has been promoted to the Inspector General (IG) rank from Deputy Inspector General (DIG) within the Maharashtra Police Force.

Mr. Sharma, whose compelling life story served as the inspiration behind the acclaimed movie ’12th Fail,’ took to his social media handles to announce the news of his promotion. Sharing his elation with his followers, Mr. Sharma reflected on his transformative journey within the Indian Police Service.

“The journey that commenced from ASP has culminated today in the rank of IG by the decree of the Government of India. Sincere thanks to everyone for bolstering me throughout this lengthy odyssey,” he shared in a post on X.
