The AED is primarily used to diagnose and treat any type of sudden cardiac arrest. In the event of an emergency, the device will be utilised to detect the situation and rapid assistance will be supplied.

Speaking on the same, MD UPMRC Shri Sushil Kumar said, “UPMRC has always fulfilled its responsibility of serving metro commuters in every possible way and giving them proper and immediate first aid in case of any untoward event.

Today, we have installed an AED device at Charbagh Metro Station which will detect and treat cardiac arrests in case any passenger shows the symptoms of a cardiac arrest.”

ICICI Bank has provided funding for the device’s installation.

It should be highlighted that the UPMRC is the first organisation in Lucknow to install such life-saving equipment for passengers. This device can help not only metro commuters, but also Railway officials from neighbouring Charbagh Railway Stations (LKO and LJN) and passengers at these Railway Stations.

All critical helpline numbers pertaining to this (Control Room/Charbagh Metro Station) will also be displayed for passenger information at Charbagh Metro Station.
