‘BIM’ has brought a paradigm shift in the Construction sector by implementing new-age technologies which bring cost and time efficiencies to the projects. Parveen Sharma, CEO, The BIM Engineers opens up in an exclusive interview with Abhineet Kumar and Srajan Agarwal of Elets News Network (ENN).

Could you share with us the challenges that you have encountered while leading the company and how you have addressed them? What were some of the lessons that you learned from these experiences?

It is important to keep yourself updated with the current trends and technologies in the industry. At ‘The BIM Engineers’, our biggest challenge is to keep upgrading our skill sets and to invent new ways to bring more efficiencies and quality improvement in our operations/projects. We keep investing time, money, and manpower in Research and Development to bring the best to the table for our clients.

BIM has emerged as a critical technology for the construction industry. How have you contributed to the adoption and advancement of BIM, and what are the company’s future plans in this regard?

The AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry is among the largest industries and the slowest one in terms of technology adoption. Now ‘BIM’ has brought a paradigm shift in the Construction sector by implementing new-age technologies which bring cost and time efficiencies to the projects. We at ‘The BIM Engineers’ have implemented BIM on 600+ projects across the globe (70+ Countries) and have established our offices in 20+ Countries including America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. Our future plans are to expand into new territories in Europe, North America, and the Middle East in the next 1 year.

The construction industry has traditionally been male-dominated. What initiatives has BIM Engineers Top Management taken to promote diversity and inclusivity within the company and the industry as a whole?

Our HR Team at ‘The BIM Engineers’ has always focused to make a healthy balance, we always believe that our company hires new staff members completely on merits and gender neutrality-based processes. We have operations in 20+ Countries with a very diverse staff.

Sustainability is becoming an increasingly important consideration for businesses. How is BIM Engineers Top Management incorporating sustainable practices into its operations and projects, and what are the company’s goals in this regard?

Energy consciousness, Green, Lean, and Clean construction are integral and important parts of the growth journey of BIM and VDC. We invest heavily in these technologies and have a dedicated team for Research and Development. We want to achieve the target to provide a one-stop solution to our clients for all their requirements related to Sustainability for Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, and Fire Protection services.

Collaboration is key to the success of any project, particularly in the construction industry. How does BIM Engineers Top Management foster a collaborative culture within the company and with its partners, and what are some of the benefits that have resulted from this approach?

‘Building Information Modeling’ is based on the principle of ‘Collaboration’ and collaborative working. This is the main reason for the success of BIM technology during the Covid period. Most of the Engineers/Architects were working from home and Collaboration was the main key for the timely and quality-oriented delivery of the projects. The main benefit of adopting a Collaborative BIM environment is that all the stakeholders have access to the most updated and latest set of information and they don’t have to bother about the updated version of the BIM Models/drawings.
