In a recent move to realign the state’s police lineup, the Government of Tamil Nadu issued orders to transfer and post 17 IPS officers across the state. Amidst the shift, the Police Commissioners of Madurai and Tirunelveli have been moved to new posts. Also, over seven Inspector Generals (IGs) have been promoted to Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) rank.

1. Asra Garg (IPS 2004-Batch) has been transferred and posted as Inspector General (IG) of Police, South Zone, Madurai.
2. T S Anbu (IPS 2001-Batch) has been transferred and appointed as IG/Additional Commissioner of Police, Law & Order, North, Greater Chennai Police, Chennai.
3. Prem Anand Sinha (IPS 2001-Batch) will be taking over as IG of Police, North Zone, Chennai.
4. Santosh Kumar (IPS 2002-Batch) gets the charge of IG of Police/Commissioner of Police, Tirunelveli City.
5. T Senthil Kumar (IPS 2001-Batch) will take over as IG of Police/Commissioner of Police, Madurai City.
6. A T Durai Kumar (IPS 2004-Batch) has been shifted and assigned the charge of IG of Police, Enforcement, Chennai.
7. S Mallikha (IPS 2006-Batch) will take over as IG of Police, Establishment, Chennai.
8. G Sampath Kumar (IPS 2004-Batch) has been promoted as IG of Police, Welfare, Chennai.
9. Bala Naga Devi (IPS 1995-Batch) has been made Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Operations, Chennai.
10. H M Jayaram (IPS 1996-Batch) has been appointed at the post of ADGP & Additional Commandant General, Home Guards.
11. Ayush Mani Tiwari (IPS 1997-Batch) has been promoted as ADGP through proforma promotion. At present, Tiwari is serving as IG, Headquarters, Border Security Force (BSF), New Delhi.
12. Maheshwar Dayal (IPS 1997-Batch) has been promoted as ADGP through proforma promotion. He is currently posted as IG, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Jharkhand, Headquarters, Ranchi.
13. Sumit Sharan (IPS 1997-Batch) has been promoted as ADGP through proforma promotion.
14. Abhin Dinesh Modak (IPS 1997-Batch) has been promoted and posted as ADGP, Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Chennai.
15. Sanjay Kumar (IPS 1997-Batch) has been promoted and posted as ADGP, Modernisation, Chennai.
16. N K Senthamaraikannan (IPS 1997-Batch) has been promoted and posted as ADGP, Social Justice & Human Rights, Chennai.
17. V Vanitha (IPS:2001:TN) has been promoted and posted as ADGP, Railways, Chennai.
