The Government of India has issued orders to appoint TV Somanathan as Finance Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Government of India. Somanathan, the 1987-Batch IAS officer, is currently serving as Secretary, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance. At present, he is the senior-most IAS officer among all secretaries in the Ministry.
