4 IPS officers of West Bengal Police transferred

Giving approval to a minor bureaucratic reshuffle in the West Bengal Police, the Government of West Bengal on May 21 issued orders for the transfer of  four IPS officers.


  1. Dr Debasish Roy (IPS 1990-Batch) has been transferred and posted as Additional Director General (ADG) of Police and Inspector General (IG) of Police, Training.
  2. Anuj Sharma (IPS 1991-Batch) has been assigned the charges of ADG and IG, West Bengal Armed Police.
  3. Gyanwant Singh (IPS 1993-Batch) has been made ADG and IGP, Crime Investigation Department (CID). Also, Singh gets the charge of Additional Director, Security.
  4. Ajey Mukund Ranade (IPS 1995-Batch) has been given the post of Advisor, Security and Vigilance, West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL).
