COVID-19| Rajasthan imposes 15-day lockdown

In view of rising COVID cases, the Government of Rajasthan on April 18 imposed a lockdown of 15 days in the state from April 19, 5 am to May 3, 5 am. The state government has named the lockdown ‘Jan Anushasan Pakhwara’ or ‘self-discipline fortnight’.

Relaxations and curbs during the lockdown

  • The government officials, police, Home Guards, fire services officials, public transport staff, civic officials, sanitation workers, health workers and medics travelling with identity cards, have been excluded from the curbs and are allowed to move during this lockdown period.

  • Moreover, grocery shops, fruit stalls, vegetables, dairy products and milk and other essential services will remain open till 7 pm.

  • People travelling to and from airports, bus stands and train stations have been allowed to move but with valid tickets.

  • As per the order, people entering the state need to have a negative RT-PCR certificate for tests conducted within 72 hours of travel as mandatory.

  • All the educational and coaching institutes are directed to remain shut till April 30. Also, for marriages and private functions gatherings of no more than 50 attendees have been allowed. Whereas, the attendees’ count for a funeral is capped at 20 personnel at max.
