Following the orders from the Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on February 25, Ranjan Prakash Thakur, a senior IRTS officer of 1990-Batch, has been appointed as Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department, Jammu and Kashmir.
In the previous month, the Lt. Governor had rolled out a new industrial policy for Jammu and Kashmir. The policy aims at developing industries and bringing in major investments to the Union Territory in the coming two years. Therefore, with the appointment of Thakur as Principal Secretary, he will be playing a crucial role in the execution of the policy.
