Go ‘Vocal for Local’ and promote the use of indigenously made products this Diwali, urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the inauguration of developmental projects worth Rs 614 crore in Varanasi on Monday, November 9.

In his address at the ceremony, the PM appealed, “Today, the mantra of ‘Local for Diwali’ and ‘Vocal for Local’ echoes around us. I appeal to all the citizens of India to promote local goods for Diwali. It will enlighten the festival for the local craftsmen and artisans. Celebrate Diwali with indigenously made products and you will see it will add to the betterment of the country’s economy.”

The PM rolled out 16 schemes worth Rs 220 crore and virtually laid the foundation stone of 14 projects worth Rs 394 crore. He also extolled the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath for his recurring efforts to bring development in the state and completion of the projects in the speculated time.
