Jayesh Ranjan conferred with Swedish honour ‘Royal Order of Polar Star’


Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia, who are on a visit to the country bestowed top royal honour ‘Order of the Polar Star’ to seven Indians and one Bhutanese woman for their exemplary work in promoting Indo-Swedish trade and relations.

IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan is one of the seven Indians who has been conferred with the ‘Royal Order of Polar Star’ for facilitating multiple Swedish investments in Telangana, including opening of the first IKEA store at Hyderabad in India.

Minister of IT, Industry and Commerce, KT Rama Rao took to Twitter to congratulate Ranjan.


Jayesh Ranjan is a member of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) of the 1992-Batch and working in the state of Telangana. He holds a Masters Degree in Psychology from Delhi University, a degree in Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, and a Masters in Public Management from Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore.

Currently, Ranjan is the Principal Secretary of the Industries & Commerce (I&C) and Information Technology (IT) Departments of the Telangana government.
