D Prashant Kumar Reddy, a 2009 batch IAS officer of Odisha cadre, has been appointed as the private secretary to India’s Vice President M. Venkaiah Nadu in the Vice President’s secretariat, said a an order issued by the Personnel Ministry.
Reddy has served as the Joint Secretary, Health and Family Welfare department of Odisha after serving as the District Magistrate and Collector of Malkangiri.

He will replace Dr I V Subba Rao as the Secretary to the Vice-President of India. The Secretary to the Vice-President is the head of the secretariat. He is generally assisted by senior officers of the rank of Director or Officer on Special Duty/Private Secretary/Under Secretaries, and other executive, ministerial and operational staff.
