Mauritus High Commissioner Signs MoU with DM, Almora in Buyers Sellers Meet


The Government of Mauritius signed MOU with almora district administration for promotion of local artifacts handloom and handicraft products of Kumaon region, Uttarakhand. J Goburdhan, high commissioner of Mauritius, New Delhi signed the MOU with Nitin Bhadauria, District Magistrate, Almora during the buyers sellers meet organised on Saturday. High Commissioner of Mauritius was the chief guest of the said event. Also Kunal Ganeriwala of Makhanlal Ganeriwala of Netherlands signed a MOU with the district Administration. At the same time , Arup Datta, CEO, Khadder and  representative of TRIFED signed MOU with Almora district administration during the buyers sellers meet organised in Udai Shankar Natya Academy, Almora. ‘This is first if it’s kind initiative by us to promote and to find market place for our local artisans, ‘ added Mayur Dixit, Chief Development Officer, Almora.

The buyers sellers meet Almora is an initiative by District industry centre almora. Talking about this Dr Deepak Murari, General Manager, DIC Almora said “this event has been a great success as deals amounting to crores were signed today which will result in getting business for the local artisans of Almora”.

The event saw presence of buyers from Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Guwahati, Noida and various parts of the country.


The first day of buys sellers meet also saw detailed presentations from experts on marketing and designing of products for global market.
