During this, Jitendra Singh recalled that Vikram Sarabhai, the first Chairman of ISRO and the founding father of India’s Space Programme, always emphasised the significant role played by ISRO, nationally. He further stated that under the marquee of Narendra Modi, the reach of space-related academic and research programmes to remote areas has been successfully feasible.
“The Centre of Space Technology in Jammu and Tripura, will offer a new platform to youngsters and scholars who are inclined towards space science to explore a new career and research option,” Singh added.
K Kasturirangan, Honorary Distinguished Advisor, ISRO and K Sivan, Secretary, DOS / Chairman, ISRO were also present on the occasion.
