World Cup 2018: Russia to use 5G for real time streaming of matches

World Cup 2018Russia, who is hosting World Cup 2018 is going to use 5G to live stream the matches.


In the first match when Morocco takes on Iran fans will be able to watch the game in VR over a 5G real-time stream.

The Krestovsky Stadium in Saint Petersburg has been fitted with high-definition cameras that will broadcast the game over a 5G connection to residents of Moscow, some 600 kilometres away.

Moscow will have a 5G zone where fans will be able to switch to different camera modes on VR glasses.


Russia is trying to convert Moscow as a Smart City and through 5G the transformation will be smooth.
