A 1983 batch IAS officer, Rajbala Verma has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of the State of Jharkhand.
Verma succeeds Rajiv Gauba, who has been appointed as the Secretary, Union Urban Development Ministry.
Known for her clean image, Verma is currently serving as the Principal Secretary – Roads. Prior to this, she has also served Jharkhand in the capacity of Principal Secretary – Finance.
Gauba will be handing handover the baton to Verma before he moves to Delhi on Friday to take up the new assignment as the Urban Development Secretary.
