googleGoogle is in the late stage of discussions to make an investment in messaging startup Symphony Communication Services LLC, according to report.

Earlier, the Wall Street Journal reported that Google invested in a new round of funding for Symphony that values the company at about $650 million.

Symphony’s chat service allows financial firms, corporate customers and individuals to put all of digital communications on one centralised platform.


Symphony is backed by 15 large Wall Street banks and financial institutions including Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse, J.P. Morgan and Citi.
