CII to ‘handhold’ WB Govt in building Agnibina Manufacturing City

The West Bengal Government will soon start e-auction for the 59.27-acre land Asansol where Agnibina, a Manufacturing Theme Township will come up.
Debashish Sen, Principal Secretary, Department of Urban Development, West Bengalsaid, “CII will handhold the State Government in this project. Agnibina is among the six theme cities to be built in phases.”
“25% of the land will have to be earmarked for economically weaker section of society. It is the Government which will decide who will be eligible for those units.”
Sen said, “The biggest advantage for investors in this project is that you have ready land with absolutely no encroachment. The State Government promises to assist investors in every step. Terms are also very easy,”
He cited a UN report saying Asansol is among the fastest growing cities in the country with seamless connectivity with the rest of the country through railway network and roads.
The State Government is planning to develop six cities along particular themes – be it manufacturing, analytics, wellness or sports.
