online tradeTo speed up implementation of construction of household toilets in urban areas under Swachh Bharat Mission, the Ministry of Urban Development has enabled online filing of applications by the beneficiaries.

The online mechanism also enables tracking of progress of construction of toilets by posting photographs.

The Ministry to this effect signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Common Services Corporation (CSC) of the Department of Electronics and Information Technology.

CSC, which has a network of over 1,40,000 Service Centres across the country, will help the beneficiaries in filling up the applications and submitting them online along with necessary documents to the concerned approving authorities. Photographs of construction work also will be posted on line for the information of concerned authorities for monitoring and verification. The Ministry will pay Transaction Fee of Rs. 20 per application.

Common Service Centres are broadband enabled service delivery points established by private parties for aggregating content and offering various services including Government to Customers (G2C) services.

Under Swachh Bharat Mission in urban areas, 1.04 crore household toilets are to be constructed by the year 2019. The Ministry of Urban Development extends an assistance of Rs. 4,000 per toilet.
