Senior IAS officer Narendra Bhooshan has been appointed as Mission Director for the National Food Security Mission (NFSM). He is a 1992 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre and currently working as Joint Secretary in the Department of Agriculture and Cooperation.
Bhooshan has been assigned the role up to July 10, 2016. The NFSM was launched in October 2007 and it comprises additional production of 25 million tonnes of food grains during 12th Five Year Plan – 2012-17.
