Inaugurating the mobile ticketing system at Dadar station in Central Mumbai, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu said, “The app will help minimise queues at booking windows and will save precious time of commuters.”

To avail the facility, commuters have to download the mobile application ‘UTS’; sign up and enter details like their mobile number, name, city etc. following which an ‘R-wallet’ will be created with zero balance.

The app developed by Centre for Railway Information System (CRIS).

The minister also inaugurated the Parcel Management System on Western Railway at Mumbai Central station. The system has been introduced to reduce human errors generally associated with manual processing.
