In Madhya Pradesh as many as 3,991 contractors have been registered so far in Centralised Registration System launched by the Public Works Department (PWD) as per decision of the State Government. The contractors registered under this system will be eligible to undertake construction works in all the State Government departments, undertakings and boards.
For registration, contractors should deposit original documents and FDR uploaded by them for registration to the Public Works Department of the concerning district. After receiving registration certificate, registered contractors will not have to visit the office again. They receive online registration certificate with digital signature.
For registration as A-Category contractor, an applicant will have to deposit a sum of Rs 50,100 as registration fees and an FDR worth Rs 10 lakh. For registration under this category, the applicant must have the experience of doing works to the tune of Rs ten crore during last three years.
Contractors registered under this category will be eligible to undertake works of unlimited cost of all the departments. Depositing fees to the tune of Rs 20,100 and making available FDR worth Rs five lakh will be necessary for those applying for B-Category contractor.
The applicant under this category must have the experience of undertaking works to the tune of Rs four crore during the last three years. The contractor of this category will be eligible to undertake works worth Rs ten crore. For registration as C-Category contractor, an applicant will have to deposit a sum of Rs 10,100 as registration fees and an FDR worth Rs two lakh. There is no condition of experience for contractors of this category. Contractors registered under this system will be eligible to undertake works to the tune of Rs two crore.
