An e-Governance software will soon be launched across all rural and district hospitals in the state to record the details of patients who get admitted for treatment. The software, which will be introduced as a pilot project in district hospital in Alibaug and super-specialty hospital in Nashik, is expected to be rolled out by the end of this financial year. This move will improve a hospital’s efficiency in working.
If a patient is admitted once, his medical history will be recorded online. In his next visit, doctors just need to check online to decide the next course of treatment, informed Meeta Lochan, secretary of the state’s public health department. Right from the time of admission of a patient, to the medicines prescribed, and the treatment provided to him, complete information will be fed into the computer. In two or three years, a central server will be created, where details of one patient in a hospital can be accessed by another hospital.
