Aadhar will be mandatory as proof during land deals in Jharkhand from January 1st, next year, as per an official release issued on Tuesday. This is to ensure the transparency in the sale or purchase of land and prevention of registering the same land more than once .
According to new law, not only the buyers and sellers are bound to have Aadhar, even witnesses are also required to produce their Aadhar cards
Till the next year, Aadhar or other relevant documents could be used for land registration but from January 1, 2014, only Aadhar would be considered as a proof in land deals.

The deadline for Aadhar enrolment in the state of Jharkhand has been set on December 2013.
