Bihar power project to be funded by ADB

Work has started on the Asian Development Bank (ADB)-funded project of Rs 650 crore in seven towns of power-starved Bihar for upgrading electricity transmission lines to cut down losses.


The project will be completed by June 2016, said sources in the Power Ministry, which facilitated the loan.

The seven towns selected for the scheme are — Biharsharif in Nalanda (the home district of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar), Motihari, Bettiah, Ara, Buxar, Samastipur and Begusarai.
