To make e-governance more efficient, transparent and accountable to its people for the next ten years, the state chief secretary, Urvashi Gulati, announced that the Haryana government has planned to develop a roadmap for Information Technology (IT) application. Furthermore, it has decided to set up a state innovation council, and also proposed to give gold, silver and bronze awards to government employees for suggesting innovation to add efficiency in delivery of services of all kinds.
 “If the growth of governance in the country has to translate into creation of an inclusive development model, the way we govern has to change and change for the better”, said the state chief secretary.
In order to take proactive measures to reduce the information gap in the society, the state government has approved more than 100 IT-related plans and other proposals of various departments. The state has received over 20 prestigious e-governance awards and it was recognised as the leader in e-governance readiness Index -2006.
