INR 10k-Crore Push to Power Sector by Govt

IT vendors are now looking at the next growth engine which is appearing in the form of domestic power sector. The government has budgeted INR 50,000 crore for the modernisation of the power sector of which INR 10,000 crore will be spent on IT.

IT vendors are now looking at the next growth engine which is appearing in the form of domestic power sector. The government has budgeted INR 50,000 crore for the modernisation of the power sector of which INR 10,000 crore will be spent on IT.


These IT projects will be in three areas, consulting, implementation of the IT systems, and training. The state electricity boards (SEBs), which will be the primary beneficiaries of the project, have already invited bids from eligible vendors.
