Haryana in the Best league for e-Governance

In an e-Governance Survey for the year 2008-2009, Haryana has moved up to the 4th position from the 18th position in 2007-08. It has been ranked ahead of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Goa, Gujarat and Maharashtra. The survey was conducted by Dataquest-IDC.

Under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP), Haryana state government has laid emphasis on implementing the mission mode e-governance projects. Recently the state government had also successfully organised the 11th National e-Governance Conference in February 2008.

Even in the e-Governance Readiness Index Haryana had shown tremendous improvement by moving up from 15th position in 2003 to fourth position in 2006. The e-readiness report of the central government of India had also ranked Haryana as the “Best e-Governed State Government” at the Telecomm India Excellence Award 2007. In all, the state has received 18 prestigious national e-governance awards.
