UK is falling behind in its overall IT readiness and infrastructure. From the fifth in 2006 through, now the UK has dropped to seventh.
The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), a leading research company has revealed a study, in which Denmark is holding first position, while Sweden is in second place in IT readiness and infrastructure. Several other Asian countries are gearing up their own digital services capabilities. Asian countries like Hong Kong and Singapore are raising their IT infrastructure. The report also found that digital identification, commonly in the form of ID cards, will be a next logical step for many nations.
