The Supreme Council of Information and Communication Technology (ictQatar) has singed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA) to enhance the role of Qatari women in the society through developing their IT skills.

The main aim of the MoU is to develop effective ways to implement the “e-Citizen project” for targeting non-working Qatari women to use International Computer Driving License or ICDL curriculum. SCFA will set up the training centres, while ictQatar and ICDL-GCC Foundation will supervise the centres. The e-Citizen project would be launched in two phases. In the first phase of the project, IDCL will provide training to 500 unemployed Qatari women, who will receive e-Citizen certificate. ictQatar will cooperate with ICDL-GCC Foundation to identify certified private companies in the field of e-Literacy, which is assigned to develop training raining material and automated testing.
