Jharkhand (India) has won award at the 9th National Conference on e-Governance for implementing the Vahan software in all 18-district transport offices (DTOs) across the state.

 

National Informatics Center (NIC) has implemented the Vahan and Sarathi software in all 18-district transport offices (DTOs), four regional transport authority and state transport authority offices of the Jharkhand, India. Vahan software will help to register vehicles, collect tax, issue various permits and record the fitness of vehicles. While the Sarathi software, which complements Vahan is used to issue driving and conductors licenses and licenses for driving schools. NIC has implemented the software in 12 districts, including Dhanbad, Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Jamshedpur, Bokaro, and Koderma. Vahan and Sarathi will introduce transparency and efficiency to the process of registering a new vehicle or getting a driving license or paying various taxes related to owning and running motor vehicles.
