Directgov makes local information available for mobile

UK Government website, Directgov has launched its mobile version to access the e-Governance services.

Directgov's new mobile service www.direct.gov.uk/mobile will allow user to enter a postcode to search for local information, which will include councils, careers and learning advice through the learndirect advice line. The site would be available for all mobile platforms and soon it would be launched in high-end 3G mobile version. According to Directgov's strategy and marketing director, Alex Butler, now people can easily access range of local services on their mobile phones. The aim of site is to offer public services and information all in one place. Cimex, Interactive content provider has developed the mobile service for Directgov.
