M F Farooqui is the new DoT secretary
M F Farooqui has taken charge as the secretary of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), replacing R Chandrashekhar who retired last month. Prior to this, Farooqui was the secretary for the Department of Heavy Industries.
Wi-Fi on Howrah Rajdhani
Howrah Rajdhani Express received Wi Fi connection on April 2, as a part of a pilot project Pawan Kumar Bansal, Minister of Railways. Indian Railways decided for satellite communication link to the train and Wi-Fi connectivity to different coaches.
NTPC signs Rs.1870 crore loan agreement with Domestic Banks
NTPC signed three Loan agreementsof Rs.1870 crore with Punjab and Sindh Bank (Rs.570 crore), Andhra Bank (Rs.300 crore) and Canara Bank (Rs.1000 crore). The loans have been extended at the respective base rates of the bank, which is the bare minimum rate at which a bank can lend.
Nabard injected Rs 7,881 crore for rural economy in Madhya Pradesh
National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has pumped in Rs 7,881 crore in 2012-13 into Madhya Pradesh's rural economy for improving rural infrastructure, capital formation and to boost crop production, a release said.
