Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) came up in 1977 as a statutory body under the Haryana government with a mandate to promote and secure development of urban areas. Till 2006, transactions in HUDA were done manually like any other urban body in the country.

Microsoft company showcased for the first time its beta version of Windows 7 in Hindi, a step aimed towards enabling Indian users to compute using various Indian languages. The company launched its Language Interface Packs (LIPs) in twelve Indian languages for use in the Windows environment and Microsoft Office.

“We used Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 for its messaging system for several years, and introduced several workflow applications which were integrated with the messaging system to automate work processes and improve customer service levels. When tasks were not completed within a specified time, an escalation was triggered, sending alerts that are delivered through e-mail messages to the appropriate individuals.
