Janadhar is the e-Governance initiative of the government of Uttarakhand. Started in March 2005, the initiative was taken up with funding from the UNDP and technicalguidance by the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (IIT).
Soon after Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), the Sambalpur University in Orissa (India) has introduced e-Governance at a cost of Rs. 2.5 crores received from the government under the twelfth finance commission for effective management at the University.
The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC) is hopeful of launching the high-speed, high-performance computing grid, connecting 17 locations and 40 premier institutes in India.
