towersThe Central Government is monitoring all efforts to address the issue of call drops on a weekly to 10 days basis with all the telecom operators.

“In the entire country a special audit was done to adjudge their performance. Out of 34,600 cells operating poorly, about 16,962 cells have improved and the rest are in progress,” Ministry of Communications & Information Technology said in an official statement.

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has also been requested to consider recommending incentives and disincentives for operators for call drops. Ministry of Communications & Information Technology Ministry of Communications said in an official statement.


Facilitate mobile towers to check call drops: DoT asks Delhi Govt

The Department of Telecom (DoT) has directed the Delhi Government and the municipal bodies of the National Capital to allow mobile towers in order to help telecom operators resolve the call drop issue.

Blaming lack of mobile towers for the call drop issue, leading telecom players sought intervention of the DoT and Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). They raised the issue pertaining to sealing of mobile towers by three Municipal Corporations of Delhi.
