Indian army and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) have jointly created oil infrastructure with tankages in West Kameng in India’s frontier state of Arunachal Pradesh.
Army spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Suneet Newton said the project is a symbol of joint national effort on the part of the Public Sector Undertaking and army to develop infrastructure and facilities in the Northeast.
The facility, for storage of all types of oils and lubricants and for bulk distribution, has been constructed at a cost of around Rs 8 crore in a record time of two years.
“The facility has contributed towards capability development for the populace of remote regions of the Northeast and is symbolic of the partnership of Industry and Army in addressing the national cause,” Newton said.
