PSPCL records highest power supply on Aug 4

Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) created a record on August 4 when it supplied 2,749 LUs of power.

It is also important to note that although Aug 4 was a Saturday which was a holiday for Government officers, public institutions, colleges and schools, etc, yet the demand for power was high on that day.

“PSPCL has beaten its own record of highest ever energy supplied during a day with supply of as high as 2,749 LUs of energy within state and in addition sold 6 LU in power exchange @ Rs. 6.78 per unit. Peak demand on this day touched 12059 MW. Earlier also, PSPCL had set a new record on 10-07-2018, when it  supplied 2745 LUs of energy and 12556 MW of peak power demand was met,” said Baldev Singh Sran, Chairman and Managing Director, PSPCL.

He further added that despite such huge energy demand and shortfall in availability of hydro power, PSPCL is supplying uninterrupted 8 hour supply to agriculture consumers also  and no cut on general and industrial consumers is imposed.

“We have made all the necessary arrangements of power supply during these extreme weather conditions and due to round the clock monitoring, PSPCL is well prepared to continue to meet with the expectations of the people of Punjab during this scorching and humid weather conditions in future too,” he added.
