Now taxpayers can generate their electronic Permanent Account Number (e-PAN) with the help of Aadhaar.
The income tax department has launched the facility of generating e-PAN on a real-time basis. This will enable users to get their PAN in the comfort of their homes.
This free facility can be availed by resident individual tax payers and not for Hindu undivided family (HUF), firms, trusts and companies, and is open for a limited period on a first-come, first-served basis for valid Aadhaar holders.
There is also no need to submit any documents as details of the Aadhaar will be used for PAN. Only a scanned copy of signature on white paper needs to be uploaded. After filing the application, a 15-digit acknowledgement number will be generated and sent to your mobile number/ email mentioned in the application form.
Today is the last day of linking Aadhaar with PAN.
